Rural/Metro Fire Department has been providing fire and emergency medical services to Pinal County residents since 1972.

Rural/Metro operates on an individual basis with the residents of Queen Creek and Northern Pinal County. This means fire protection and emergency medical services are not paid for through taxes and residents are responsible for establishing fire serivce directly with Rural/ Metro Fire.

In Pinal County, Rural/Metro currently has two responding fire stations. There are seven firefighters on duty each day, along with a Southwest Ambulance, staffed with highly trained personnel dedicated to Pinal County.

Rural/Metro Fire crews in Pinal County are led by Battalion Chiefs Bill Grubb and Dan Caudle.
