Residents of the unincorporated areas of eastern Maricopa County/Northern Pinal County have been using Rural/Metro Fire Department since 1959. We have served the town of Queen Creek since 1972.

Rural/Metro operates on an individual basis with most residents of Maricopa County. This means fire protection and emergency medical services are not paid for through taxes and residents are responsible for establishing fire service directly with Rural/ Metro Fire.

In Queen Creek and the surrounding areas, Rural/Metro has three primary responding fire stations, including a new station being built in the Copper Basin area. There are 11 firefighters on duty at all times, including at minimum three paramedics.

Rural/ Metro Fire crews in the Queen Creek and surrounding areas are led by Battalion Chiefs Bill Grubb and Dan Caudle.
